Age Limit, Gender and Marital Status

Gender: Male.

Marital Status: Unmarried.

Only unmarried male candidates who has not born earlier than 02 January 2002 ( max 18-19 years), Not later than 1 January 2005 (Min 16-17 years) are eligible.

To validate candidate date of birth the matriculation mark sheet will be followed. And that mark sheet should be from recognized board. These certificates are required to be submitted only after the declaration of the result of the written part of the examination. The expression Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate in this part of the instruction includes the alternative certificates mentioned above.

Educational Eligibility Criteria

For Army Wing of National Defense Academy (NDA): 10+2 Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board/University.

Indian Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defense Academy and for 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: 10+2 Class pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board/University.

Qualification Note: Candidates appearing in the 11th class exam are not eligible for this examination.

Physical Eligibility

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defense Academy & Naval Academy Examination-II, 2020 as per guidelines given in Appendix-IV.

Selection Process

Intelligence and Personality Test: The SSB procedure consists of two stage Selection process - stage-I and stage-II. Only those candidates who clear the stage-I will permitted to appear for stage-II.

The details are 22 Stage-I comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception Description Test (PP & DT). The candidates will shortlisted based on combination of performance in OIR Test and PP & DT.

Stage-II Comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests are conduct over 4 days. The details of these tests are gave on the official website. The personality of a candidate is assess by three different assessors. The Interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO) and the Psychologist. There are no separate weightage for each test. The marks are a lot by assessors only after taking into consideration the performance of the candidate holistically in all the test.

Candidate should have details of one photo IDs. Aadhar Card/Voter Card/PAN Card/Passport/ Driving License/School Photo ID/ Any other photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government.
