Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (UPMRC), a jointly owned company of the Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh, invites applications from experienced professionals for the position of Project Director on deputation/absorption basis. Position Details

    • On Deputation: Parent pay plus deputation allowance
    • On Absorption: Rs. 1,50,000 – 3,00,000 (IDA scale)

Tenure of Appointment

  • Deputation: Initially for 3 years (extendable)

Educational Qualification

  • B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a government-recognized university/institute

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Experience in Government/PSUs/Metro Projects:
    • Must be working in SAG or equivalent grade for at least 2 years
    • Pay Scale: Rs. 1,20,000 – 2,80,000 (IDA) or Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200 (Level-14, 7th CPC CDA)
    • Must have a minimum of 20 years of executive-level experience
  2. Private Sector Experience Consideration:
    • Executives currently in Government/PSU roles who have earlier worked in the private sector can count relevant private sector experience toward the 20 years, subject to proof.

Work Experience Requirement

  • At least 5 years’ experience in planning, construction, tendering, and execution of large multi-disciplinary infrastructure/metro/railway projects.
  • Experience in underground metro construction including tunnels.
  • Familiarity with all phases of international project contracts including planning, bidding, execution, and commissioning.
  • Understanding of safety norms and obtaining CMRS certification.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with international funding institutions.
  • Interface coordination with railway systems (track, signaling, electrification, rolling stock).
  • Strong grasp of land acquisition and rehabilitation processes.

Job Description

The Project Director will be responsible for:

  • Overall project management for civil construction activities
  • Ensuring quality control, safety compliance, and progress monitoring
  • Interfacing with design, track work, systems, and contracting teams
  • Managing tender processes, budgeting, and cost control
  • Coordination for land acquisition, utility relocation, and obtaining statutory approvals

Age Limit

  • Maximum Age: 57 years (as on the closing date)

Mode of Selection

  • Selection will be based on interview only.
  • Shortlisting may be done based on:
    • Desirable qualifications
    • Higher educational qualifications
    • Higher experience in the relevant field
