Recruitment Notification for Contract Medical Practitioners – Northern Railway, Firozpur Division

Northern Railway, Firozpur Division, invites applications from qualified and dedicated doctors for engagement as Contract Medical Practitioners (CMPs) on a full-time basis. The appointment is purely temporary and contractual, aimed at strengthening the healthcare services of the railway hospitals and health units under the division. The contract will be for a period of one year, which may be extended based on performance and the requirement of the Railway administration.

This opportunity is open to both open market candidates and retired doctors from Indian Railways, Central/State Government, and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). The recruitment is intended to fill General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO) and Specialist roles across multiple locations.

Vacancy

A total of 450 vacancies are available for engagement as CMPs at the following locations:

Category-wise Distribution:

• Unreserved (UR): 400 Posts
• Other Backward Classes (OBC): 50 Post
• There are no specific vacancies allocated for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories.

Eligibility

Age Limit

• Open Market Doctors: Not exceeding 53 years as of the interview date.
  • Candidates from SC/ST categories are entitled to an upper age limit relaxation of 5 years, while those from the OBC category receive a relaxation of 3 years.
  • Can be engaged for up to 12 terms (one term = one year), or up to 65 years of age, whichever is earlier.
• Retired Government Doctors: May be engaged up to 67 years of age for a maximum of 7 terms.

Educational Qualifications

• GDMOs: MBBS degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Council of India, along with completion of a rotating internship and valid registration with State/Indian Medical Council.
• Specialists: MBBS with postgraduate qualification (MD/MS/DNB/DMRD) in the concerned specialty from a recognized institution, with a desirable 3 years of relevant experience.

Other Requirements

• Doctors currently employed in Government or PSU service must bring a No Objection Certificate (NOC).
• Retired medical professionals are required to submit their Pension Payment Order (PPO) as proof of retirement.

Selection Proces

• Selection of candidates will be determined through their performance during the walk-in interview process.
• Candidates will be shortlisted based on educational qualifications, experience, and performance in the interview.
• Selected candidates will be intimated via phone/SMS regarding medical examination and joining formalities.
• If a selected candidate is unavailable or unable to join, the opportunity will be offered to the next eligible candidate on the panel.

   • Original and one set of self-attested photocopies of:
     • MBBS/PG Degree certificates and mark sheets
     • Internship completion certificate
     • Registration certificate with Medical Council
     • Experience certificates
     • Caste and category certificates (if applicable)
     • PPO (for retired doctors)
     • NOC (if currently employed in Govt/PSU)
3. No prior application submission is required.
4. Candidates will not be reimbursed for travel or daily allowances to attend the interview.
