Vacancy:

The Assistant Professor (Group ‘A’) post is available in the following vacancies:

  • Delhi Campus: 450 vacancies
  • Southern Campus (Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh): 300 vacancies

Eligibility:

To apply for the position of Assistant Professor, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Essential: A Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Engineering, Disaster Management, or a related field, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in the postgraduate degree.
  • Desirable:
    • M.Phil or Ph.D. in the relevant or allied disciplines.
    • A consistent record of good academic performance.
    • Contribution to innovation in educational design, development of curricula and courses, training modules, and technology-based teaching methods.

Experience:

  • By Promotion:
    • Officers or employees from the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, statutory or autonomous organizations, or fully funded Central/State Government Universities or Institutes, who are holding equivalent positions on a regular basis and meet the required educational qualifications.
    • By Deputation:
    • Officers or employees from the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, statutory or autonomous bodies, or fully funded Central/State Government Universities or Institutes, holding analogous posts on a regular basis and possessing the required educational qualifications.

Age Limit:

  • The maximum age limit for deputation appointments is 56 years, as of July 1st of the year in which the advertisement is published.

Salary:

The salary for the Assistant Professor post will be as per the Pay Level outlined by the Central Pay Commission (CPC). The salary package includes the standard government allowances and benefits as applicable to Group ‘A’ officers, along with accommodation facilities within the campus for regular employees.

Selection Process:

The selection process for the Assistant Professor position will consist of the following steps:

  1. Application Review:
    • All applications will be reviewed to ensure that the candidates meet the eligibility criteria, including educational qualifications and experience.
  2. Interview:
    • Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview to assess their expertise in disaster management, teaching experience, and research contributions.
  3. Document Verification:
    • Candidates must submit their Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) or APARs for the past five years, certified by an officer of at least the rank of Under Secretary, along with other necessary documents, including integrity certificates and a declaration stating that no disciplinary or vigilance proceedings are currently pending.
  4. Final Selection:
    • The candidate’s performance in the interview will be the deciding factor for the final selection. The selected candidates will be placed in the position on deputation.
