Eligibility Criteria
Junior Secretariat Assistant (General/F&A/S&P)
- Educational Qualification: 10+2 / XII standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
- Required Skills: Competence in computer-based typing with a speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi.
- Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of computer applications and office procedures.
- Maximum Age Limit: 28 years as of the application closing date. Age relaxation will be provided in accordance with government guidelines.
Junior Stenographer
- Educational Qualification: 10+2 / XII standard or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
- Required Skills: Ability to transcribe dictation at 80 words per minute for 10 minutes. The permitted duration for transcription is 50 minutes for English and 65 minutes for Hindi using a computer.
- Maximum Age Limit: 27 years as of the application deadline. Age concessions will be applicable in accordance with the prevailing government guidelines.
Salary
The positions offer the following salary structures in accordance with the 7th Central Pay Commission guidelines:
- Junior Secretariat Assistant
- Pay Level: Level 2 (Rs. 19,900 – Rs. 63,200)
- Approximate Gross Monthly Salary: Rs. 33,875 (including allowances)
- Junior Stenographer
- Pay Level: Level 4 (Rs. 25,500 – Rs. 81,100)
- Approximate Gross Monthly Salary: Rs. 43,076 (including allowances)
In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to dearness allowance (DA), house rent allowance (HRA), transport allowance (TA), and other benefits as per CSIR and Government of India rules.
Selection Process
For Junior Secretariat Assistant
- The selection will be through a two-stage process.
- Written Test:
- Paper-I: Objective-type questions on Mental Ability (qualifying in nature)
- Paper-II: Descriptive-type questions on General Awareness and English Language
- Typing Test on Computer: Qualifying in nature
- Written Test:
- The final selection will be determined exclusively by the marks obtained in Paper-II.
For Junior Stenographer
- The selection will consist of the following:
- Written Test
- Stenography Skill Test: Qualifying in nature
- Selection will be based solely on the candidate’s performance in the written examination.
