Job Opening: Indian Oil Corporation Seeks Retired Government Employees for Land Acquisition Support in Southern Region Pipelines

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Southern Region Pipelines Division, Chennai, is seeking applications from retired government officials (Revenue) for contractual roles to support the Competent Authority (CA) in land acquisition tasks under the Right of Use (RoU) process, in line with the PM&P Act of 1962. IOCL has the following vacancies available under the contract basis for retired government employees in the Southern Region Pipelines:

Nature of Work:

The selected candidates will assist the Competent Authority in land acquisition activities, including:

  • Revenue Accountant:
    • Monitoring accounts payable and receivable
    • Maintaining records of ROW, land assets, and expenses
    • Preparing cheques for stakeholders involved in land acquisition
  • Revenue Assistant:
    • Assisting in serving notices for objection hearings to landowners and farmers
    • Communicating notifications under Section 3(1) and 6(1) of the PM&P Act
    • Interpreting revenue records and updating government records
    • Providing support to CA and other Land Acquisition staff

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age Limit:
    • Applicants must not exceed 64 years of age as of the date of publication of the notice.
  • Qualifications and Experience:
    • For Revenue Accountant: Must have retired as Deputy Collector, Tahsildar, Assistant Director of Survey, Inspector of Survey, or equivalent positions.
    • For Revenue Assistant: Must have retired as Tahsildar, Deputy Tahsildar, Sub-Inspector of Survey, Deputy Inspector of Survey, FMS (Field Measurement Survey) or equivalent.
  • Health and Physical Fitness:
    • Applicants must be free from any physical disabilities and be medically fit to carry out fieldwork activities.
  • Legal Standing:
    • Applicants must not have any pending legal charges or departmental proceedings.

Pay Scale and Allowances:

  • Revenue Accountant:
    • Fixed Remuneration: Rs. 36,400 per month
    • Additional allowances such as daily allowance, hotel charges, mobile/internet expenses as per IOCL’s rules when on tour.
  • Revenue Assistant:
    • Fixed Remuneration: Rs. 31,600 per month
    • Additional allowances such as daily allowance, hotel charges, mobile/internet expenses as per IOCL’s rules when on tour.
  • The salary remains fixed throughout the contract period, with no increments unless revised by IOCL.

Contract Duration:

  • Initial Contract Duration: 1 year
  • Extension: Contract may be extended based on performance and operational requirements.

Leave Entitlement:

  • Casual Leave (CL): 12 days annually, granted on a pro-rata basis.
  • Unused leave will not carry forward to the next year or be encashed.

Working Conditions:

  • The working hours, off days, and holidays will follow the schedule of the office where the candidate is posted.
  • Daily attendance will be recorded, and monthly salaries will be disbursed based on verified attendance.
