IPHB Goa Announces Walk-in Interviews for Psychiatrist & Assistant Professor in Psychiatric Nursing (Contract Basis)

The Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behavior (IPHB), situated opposite the Holy Shrine, Bambolim-Goa, invites eligible and qualified candidates to appear for a walk-in interview for the following posts to be filled on a contract basis for a period of one year, or until the vacancies are filled through regular recruitment—whichever occurs earlier. These positions offer consolidated remuneration and will not confer any right for regularization or future absorption into government service. The recruitment is open to individuals with the necessary qualifications and experience in the fields of Psychiatry and Psychiatric Nursing.

Eligibility

1. Psychiatrist

Essential Qualifications:

• A recognized Medical Qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (excluding licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (Central Act 102 of 1956).
• Applicants possessing qualifications mentioned in Part II of the Third Schedule must additionally meet the requirements outlined in Sub-Section (3) of Section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act.
• Postgraduate Degree or Diploma in Psychiatry recognized by the Medical Council of India or an equivalent authority.
• At least two years of experience in the specialty as a Junior Resident.
• Knowledge of Konkani is mandatory.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of Marathi

Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not older than 45 years.

2. Assistant Professor in Psychiatric Nursing

Essential Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Nursing from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC).
• A minimum of five years of teaching experience in Nursing following the completion of a postgraduate qualification.
• Knowledge of Konkani is mandatory.

Desirable:

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nursing
• Knowledge of Marathi

Age Criteria: Applicants should be between 18 and 45 years of age.

Salary

• Psychiatrist: ₹72,660/- per month (Consolidated)
• Assistant Professor in Psychiatric Nursing: ₹76,812/- per month (Fixed Salary)

These are fixed monthly remunerations for the duration of the contract period.

Selection Process

• The selection will be based on performance in the walk-in interview conducted at the Institute of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, Goa.
• Candidates must be present at the venue within the registration time on the date of the interview.
• Only those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and complete the registration process between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM will be considered for the interview.
• The final selection will be based on verification of documents, fulfillment of eligibility conditions, and performance during the interview.
• The selection committee’s decision shall be deemed final and non-negotiable.
