AMU Teacher Vacancies 2024: Apply Online for PGT, TGT, and Primary Teacher Positions

The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has announced vacancies for various University School Teacher positions, inviting online applications from Indian Nationals, including Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act, 1955. These positions include roles for Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), and Primary Teachers (PRT) across different schools within the university. Salary and Benefits

Pay Scale: The salary for the various teaching positions will be based on the following pay levels, depending on the role:

  • Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) (Biology, Commerce, Mathematics, Physics, Fine Arts): ₹47,600 – ₹1,51,100 (Pay Level 8)
  • Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) (Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Urdu): ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400 (Pay Level 7)
  • Primary Teacher (PRT): ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 (Pay Level 6)

Additional Benefits: Selected candidates will also receive allowances as per the policies of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

Age Criteria

  • PGT and TGT Positions: The maximum age limit is 40 years, but AMU employees working in its schools are exempt from this age restriction. Relaxations will be given as per Government of India guidelines.
  • PRT Position: The maximum age limit is 30 years, with age relaxation as per the same government rules.

Eligibility Requirements

Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)

Qualifications:

  • A two-year Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. course from a Regional College of Education by NCERT in the relevant subject, or a Master’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in the specific subject.
  • A B.Ed. or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution (for the Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged, a B.Ed. Special Education is necessary).

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of computer applications.
  • Proficiency in English, Hindi, and Urdu.

Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT)

Qualifications:

  • A four-year Integrated Degree Course from NCERT or a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject.
  • A B.Ed. or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or UPTET.

Desirable:

  • Basic knowledge of computer applications.
  • Proficiency in teaching in English, Hindi, and Urdu.

Primary Teacher (PRT)

Qualifications:

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, or Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.), or Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education.
  • Must have qualified the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) or UPTET.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with computer applications.
  • Ability to teach in English, Hindi, and Urdu.

Primary Teachers (Arts)

Qualifications:

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (with Arts as a subject), or a Bachelor of Fine Arts with at least one year of teaching experience.
  • Must have qualified the CTET or UPTET exam.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in teaching English, Hindi, and Urdu.

Age Relaxation

Age relaxation for the PGT, TGT, and Primary Teacher positions will be provided as follows:

  • AMU School Employees: No upper age limit.
  • SC/ST Candidates: Up to 5 years.
  • OBC Candidates: Up to 3 years.
  • Domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir (01.01.80 to 31.12.89): Up to 5 years.
  • Persons with Disabilities: Up to 10 years.
  • Women Candidates: Up to 10 years.

Application Process

Online Application: Candidates are required to submit their applications online via the AMU Careers Portal. The processing fee for each application is ₹500, which can only be paid through online payment methods.

Hard Copy Submission: After completing the online application, candidates must print and send the hard copy of the application form to the specified address by 17th December 2024.

Exemption for PwD Candidates: Candidates with disabilities are exempt from the application fee, provided they submit a valid disability certificate.
