About the Role

As an AME, Sr. AME, or Duty Engineer, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and certifying Air India’s fleet. You will oversee both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, ensuring all aircraft are in airworthy condition. The role is vital to maintaining the airline’s operational efficiency and safety standards while complying with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Certification

  • Perform inspection and certification of work related to aircraft maintenance, including instruments, electrical systems, radio communication/navigation, airframe, and powerplant.
  • Ensure all maintenance work adheres to manufacturers’ recommendations, regulatory standards, and Air India’s quality guidelines.
  • Certify all maintenance and repair work and ensure compliance with statutory airworthiness requirements.

Operational Accountability

  • Address and rectify defects reported during inspections or by flight crews promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of maintenance work, including worksheets, inspection schedules, and technical logs.
  • Supervise and guide Sr. Engineers, Engineers, and technical staff to maintain airworthiness standards and best practices.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Stay updated on technical requirements and regulations issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and other airworthiness authorities.
  • Coordinate with DGCA representatives for regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations, including proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials.

Safety and Quality Management

  • Follow safety protocols while servicing aircraft or handling equipment.
  • Conduct periodic inspections and calibrations of tools and equipment.
  • Prepare and submit delay and occurrence reports within the prescribed timeframe.

Stakeholder Interaction

  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to analyze technical delays and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with DGCA representatives to meet all regulatory requirements effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or equivalent.
  • Ab-initio Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) training from a DGCA-approved institution.
  • Hold a valid CAR 66 Type Rating of Cat B1, B2, or C license for Airbus and Boeing fleet.
