The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS)—the tech backbone of Indian Railways—is looking for a Deputy Manager/Manager (Data Science) to join their team on deputation. Eligibility

Who Can Apply:

  • Officers working in Indian Railways or other Central Government departments.
  • Belonging to Group ‘A’ services in the substantive grades of Level-10/Level-11/Level-12 of the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix.

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics, Applied Statistics, or Mathematical Statistics included as one of the core subjects.
    or
  • A Master’s Degree in Statistics or Applied Statistics.

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong command over data science methodologies, including machine learning and statistical computation techniques.
  • Practical knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R is essential.

Experience:

  • Officers applying for Level-11/12 must have completed at least two years in Level-10/11 respectively.
  • Should have experience working in a computerized environment and dealing with statistical data.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum age should not exceed 40 years as on the closing date of the application.

Salary

The pay will be as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix:

  • Level-11 or Level-12, depending on the officer’s current grade and experience.
  • Officers currently working in the same level will be eligible for deputation allowance as per government rules.
  • Other allowances and perks will be applicable as per deputation terms and CRIS policies.

Selection Process

  • Eligible applications will be screened and shortlisted based on qualifications and relevant experience.
  • Final selection will be conducted as per guidelines issued by the Railway Board.
  • Officers shortlisted for the same level will be offered deputation with applicable allowance.
  • Officers being considered for a higher level must fulfill the minimum service requirement in their current grade.

Primary Mode:

  • Officers must apply through the Human Resource Management System (HRMS) portal using their individual login credentials, as per instructions issued by the Railway Board.

Alternative Mode (if HRMS is unavailable):

  • Officers may fill the prescribed application form and submit it to their administrative office.
  • The administrative office will forward the application to the concerned authority with the following documents:
    • No Objection Certificate (NOC)
    • Vigilance/DAR clearance
    • Copies of APARs for the last five years
